The Employee Leave Management application aims to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in managing employee leaves. By automating leave-related tasks and providing comprehensive features, it simplifies the leave management process and improves the overall employee experience.

Employee leave management system is a process by which employees apply for leaves; managers approve them and leave balances are tracked. 

Initially, most companies opt for a manual process that involves a lot of busywork for the HR department.

Traditional Employee leave management looks a little like this: 

• The employee checks their leave balances using a view-only Excel sheet managed by the HR department
• The employee drops an email to their manager
• The manager looks through the work calendar and other absences of team members to approve or reject the leave
• On approval, the HR manager is also looped in who then adjusts the leave balances accordingly 
• Tracking the Employee Workflow(tasks) also
• Employees can access the application to submit leave requests, specifying details such as leave type, start and end dates, reason for leave, and any supporting documentation if required.
• Notifications are sent to both employees and approvers upon approval or rejection of a leave request.
• Employees can view their leave balances to make informed decisions when submitting leave requests.
• The application keeps track of employee leave balances, including accumulated leaves, used leaves, and remaining leaves.
• It deducts the approved leave days from the respective employee's entitlemen
• Employees have access to a self-service portal within the application.
